The wheeled boats have appeared in various settings, usually under deep jewel-like skies. This painting of 4 sailboats with wheels is linear, with soft pastel blues, greens and pinks as a ground. The black lines colors overlay a canvas to which smaller rectangles of canvas have been added. The "runic" has nothing to do with Roman history, but rather "runic" inscriptions - like ancient photographs of these vessels. |
