Cerulean and ultramarine blue orchestrate the symphony of an active sea and sky as five boats sail around a buoy in a race. Wide brushstrokes and palette knife strokes give this small painting a "big" feeling. The juxtaposition of cadmium red against blue is one of the artist's favorite effects. |
