After the Stiltons returned to Florida from Maine at the end of the summer, the artist's palette continued to reflect Maine for several weeks. The greens and siennas create an enchanted wood, with stars seen through the branches overhead. The piano and chandelier, symbolic of the urban and urbane existence the Stiltons have in Tampa, hide in the blue and purple shadows of the silent woods at the farm. |
