In his relationship with his Great Danes, the artist was moved by Alexander the Great’s companionship with his horse Bucephalus. These are the horses sired by Bucephalus, set in the ruins of one of the cities Alexander perhaps conquered. The jewel-like amethyst, emerald, and sapphire hues build an eternal landscape of timeless tribute. |
