"This was the first of over forty canvas and paper works I did in conjunction with the Chiselers, a fund raising group of women dedicated to the preservation of the former Tampa Bay Hotel (built in 1898 by steamship and railroad tycoon Henry B. Plant), now the University of Tampa. I focused on the areas of the building they had helped restore: the minarets (now covered in gleaming stainless steel), the original dining room, the main doors. This painting was auctioned at the preview event of the Chiseler’s Market in 2003."
