"A geometric painting with a syncopated rhythm, Golden Dragon Chronicle is titled thus because the irregular gold leaf shapes in the blue areas suggested dragons. They were not intentional, and like looking at clouds and seeing shapes and forms, they may have appeared to me and no one else! But something felt like ancient China, perhaps in the jade greens, the red oxide, and the deep blue and turquoise ceramic glazes of distant dynasty. Something geographic comes across as well, reminding me of maps and charts." |
