"For an artist who wraps colors around himself mentally, the painting was quite an experience! I had never left large areas of solid color. The five blue squares are like windows, but the blue is so deep and calm that it seems to lead to spiritual awareness and peace. It is a tribute to my mother, Liz Fuller, whose respect for the wonder and beauty natural things impressed me all through my life. The American Indian influence is manifested in “Legacy,” and reaches deeply into my being." |
